Dr. Abaalkhail is currently working as a consultant Transplant Hepatologist and Gastroenterologist at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center in Riyadh and Adjunct Professor in the College of Medicine at Al Faisal University in Riyadh.
He is the president of the Saudi Society for the Study of Liver Disease and Transplantation (SASLT) and a board member of the Pan Arab Society of Liver Transplantation.
He is also the Governor of American College of Physician (ACP) Saudi Arabia chapter.
In addition to his current post, he is the deputy chairman of Committee of the National Fatty Liver Committee Medical Health Council, Saudi Arabia;
And member of the National committee for viral hepatitis elimination at the public health sector in the ministry of health
